Ladakh, in the indian Himalaya. Setting of a story about love and suffering, living in the remote high altitude desert and the tibetan-buddhist philosophy.
In a pre-summernight an old ladakhi shepherd finds a young, confused foreign girl on his doorstep. Rigzin, the shepherd, takes care of the girl, nurses her and so a special, but misunderstood love develops between them. They discover a subtile level of communication, in which their touching hands sing from experiences, from big emotions, deep suffering and unsaid thoughts. A whole summer the story ripes as the barley on the fields in front of the door of Rigzins stone hut and the story of the two connects in an unexpected way….
